A well-known industry player Daryl Erasmus officially took the reins as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of South Africa Tourism (SAT) from 7 January.
As CEO, Erasmus will be responsible for overseeing SAT’s corporate services functions while supporting its internal business units to ensure effective operations.In addition, he will be responsible for the implementation of in-country localization and global strategies.

Erasmus, previously SAT’s Chief Quality Assurance Officer in the Tourism Assessment Board Business Unit, brings a wealth of experience and leadership experience from the hospitality, tourism and corporate communications industries.
He has worked in marketing, sales and leadership roles with brands such as Travelport, Protea Hotels and InterContinental.He was also the CEO of BLAZE Integrated Hospitality Marketing.
More recently, he has shared his consulting and advisory skills with commercial services in the tourism and hospitality industries as Director of DAX Advisory Services.
