Just 90 kilometers (56 miles) north of Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab is famous for its Blue Hole. this coastal gem is easy to get to and offers adventurous, affordable accommodations and a combination of local charm.

For first-timers, Dahab has five key areas I would recommend considering: Absolutely, Lighthouse area, Mashrabaand: Blue Lagoon. Each offers something unique.

  • AbsolutelyKnown as the heart of Dahab, this area offers beachfront cafes, affordable guesthouses and stunning sunsets, making it ideal for solo travelers or couples.
  • Lighthouse areaPerfect for diving enthusiasts and social travelers, with plenty of dive centers, cafes and budget hostels, this is where you want to be.
  • MashrabaA quieter, family-friendly location with mid-range hotels and easy access to Dahab’s beaches.Great if you’re after a relaxing base near the action, but not right in it.
  • LagunaFor a resort-style getaway where you can fully relax without leaving.
  • Blue LagoonIt’s a huge sign, but it’s such an amazing place and especially ideal for kite surfers and travelers looking for total solitude. It’s remote and peaceful, but it takes a little more effort to get to.

My favorite hotels in Dahab

While Dahab’s tourism scene began as a backpacker and windsurfer town, I’ve noticed that the village has grown considerably over the years, with many excellent hotels springing up around the main Paros and Mashraba areas.

The good news is that you can often find high-end hotels at very reasonable prices. If you’re looking for a great hotel with a view of the Red Sea that you’ll find in Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada hotels, Dahab is one of the best places to stay in Egypt. .

2. Sea Garden Camp

  • Location:Lighthouse area
  • The best: Singles or couples looking for a unique beach getaway

Perfect for budget-conscious travelers, couples and pet owners looking for a quiet retreat at sea, the air-conditioned rooms are comfortable and have private bathrooms, many of which offer great views of the sea makes cooking easier.

The property is pet-friendly, and you may even spot a friendly resident cat roaming around.For dining, don’t miss Athanor Pizzeria or Lemongrass, both just a few minutes’ walk away and with great value for money, this is a great base for Dahab.

3. Al Deira Golden Hotel

  • The best: Perfect for couples, solo travelers and families looking for a peaceful getaway.

Its quiet location is ideal for travelers who want to admire the ocean and be close to nearby activities.The nearby streets are lined with both scuba and free diving centers for those who want to explore the underwater world.

  • Location:Laguna
  • The best: Couples who want to relax in the sun by the pool bar.

Jaz Dahabeya is a 4-star resort offering stylish rooms with stunning views of Mount Sinai and the Red Sea at affordable prices.

Surrounded by lush gardens and palm trees, the resort features a lagoon style poola well-equipped gym and relaxing massage treatments. Relaxing by the pool, you’ll hardly believe you’re in the middle of the desert.

The resort offers water sports such as windsurfing, diving and snorkeling.Dahab’s vibrant marine life is truly world-class and worth experiencing first-hand, and be sure to grab your GoPro.

3. Swiss Inn Resort Dahab

  • The best: Couples or families looking for a quiet getaway.

Swiss Inn Resort Dahab is perfect for relaxation beach getaway. With its private beach and spacious rooms, it’s a great choice for families or couples who, again, don’t want everything on their doorstep.

Guests can enjoy a varied buffet and cocktails at the beach bar while soaking up the stunning views of the Red Sea.The resort also offers diving excursions, a kids’ club and adventures such as camel and horse rides, or quad and jeep safaris through the desert.
